Traditional songs, that we all had to sit cross legged on the floor and join in with, while the teacher played the black notes on the piano. I never worked out why (why, WHY!) when we had music and singing lessons, it was always Folk music. But early in my life, I got all but poisoned by impenetrably dull music that I was exposed to at primary school. It was by choice, hearing stuff I liked, and following up thereafter.
